Extensive expertise in the Expert and Special Jury 

The decision on the nominations for the German Jazz Prize is once again in the hands of renowned figures from the jazz and improvised music scene. From over 1,000 submissions, the different juries select the nominees in 22 categories.

The expert jury unites 25 experts, amongst them artists, journalists and representatives from labels, clubs, festivals, managements and agencies, to represent the diversity of the music scene and honor outstanding artistic achievements. Hier fehlte ein Absatz
For the first time, a five-member special jury will select the nominees and one award winner in the category “Composition/Arrangement of the Year”.

In addition to the expert and special jury, there is a third jury: the 17-member main jury, which selects the award winners in 21 categories. The members of this jury will be announced at a later date.

The nominees will be announced in March, and the 22 winners will be revealed at the award ceremony on June 13 at the E-Werk in Cologne.
