About 1000 Submissions for the German Jazz Prize 2023 

The application phase for the German Jazz Prize 2023 ended on November 30. About 1000 applications and expert jury proposals have been submitted. 

In the next step, the 25-member international expert jury is asked to select the three nominees from all the submissions. The members of the jury, all experts in the field of jazz and improvised music, will be announced on our website in early 2023. 

After the expert jury meetings in January 2023, the main jury of the German Jazz Prize will select the 31 winners, each of whom can look forward to €10,000 prize money and a trophy. More information on the composition and tasks of the expert and main jury can be found here. 

The award ceremony of the German Jazz Prize 2023 will take place on the opening night of jazzahead! on April 27, 2023 at the Metropol Theater Bremen – Save the Date!
