Lukas Akintaya, auch bekannt als Adeolu, ist ein in Berlin lebender Schlagzeuger, Komponist und Musikproduzent, dessen Arbeit sich fließend über Disziplinen und Genres hinweg bewegt. Sein musikalisches Verständnis ist stark von der schwarzen Kunstform des Jazz sowie von ihrem weitreichenden kulturellen Erbe und gesellschaftlichen Einfluss geprägt. Akintayas Praxis begreift Jazz nicht als festen Stil, sondern als lebendige Methode. Geprägt durch sein Leben und Studium in Berlin, Bremen, Paris und New York City schöpft er aus einer Vielzahl musikalischer Szenen und Spieltraditionen und entwickelt Kollaborationen mit Künstler:innen aus unterschiedlichen musikalischen Hintergründen wie Hip-Hop, Clubmusik, „klassischer“, improvisierter und elektronischer Musik. Sein jüngstes Album The In Between (2025) ist eine langsam entfaltende, intime Meditation über die Vielschichtigkeit der Existenz. Getragen von einem zutiefst kollaborativen Geist verbindet das Album persönliche Poesie mit nichtlinearer Erzählweise und eröffnet einen Raum, der ebenso zuhört wie er spricht.

Lukas Akintaya, also known as Adeolu, is a Berlin-based drummer, composer, and music producer whose work moves fluidly across disciplines and genres. His musical conception is profoundly influenced by the Black art form of jazz, along with its wide ranging cultural heritage and societal impact. Akintaya’s practice reflects jazz not as a fixed style, but as a living methodology. Shaped by his life and studies in Berlin, Bremen, Paris and New York City, he draws from a wide range of musical scenes and playing traditions and forges collaborations with artists from various musical backgrounds like Hip Hop, club music, “classical”, improvised and electronic music. His most recent album „The In Between“ (2025), is a slow-burning and intimate meditation on the multifacetedness of existence. Driven by a deeply collaborative spirit, the album blends personal poetry with non-linear storytelling, opening a space that listens as much as it speaks.
