Evi Filippou ist eine in Berlin lebende griechische Vibraphonistin, Perkussionistin, Performerin und Komponistin, die an der Schnittstelle von Komposition, Improvisation und globalen Folk-Traditionen arbeitet. Ihr gefeiertes Projekt inEvitable erhielt 2023 den Deutschen Jazzpreis als Debütalbum des Jahres. Sie arbeitet europaweit mit zahlreichen Künstler:innen zusammen, unter anderem im Duo Filippou & Lucaciu sowie mit Uli Kempendorff, Julius Gawlik und dem Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra. In den letzten zehn Jahren veröffentlichte er zahlreiche Solo-Releases auf verschiedenen genreübergreifenden Labels wie Orange Milk Records, Squama und „Light Years“ von Caterina Barbieri. Er kollaborierte und performte mit Protagonist:innen der musikalischen Avantgarde ebenso wie mit renommierten Künstler:innen der experimentellen Popmusikszene, darunter Elvin Brandhi, Evita Manji, Kiani del Valle, Brodinski, Ville Haimala, Yves B. Golden, Petter Eldh, Roomer, Lucia Cadotsch, Kirke Karja, 645AR, das Berliner Ensemble und viele weitere. Er trat unter anderem beim Jazzfest Berlin, in der Neuen Nationalgalerie, im CCA Berlin, im ICA London, in der Berlinischen Galerie, bei Creamcake 3HD, im HAU, in Moers, bei A´l Arme, in der Volksbühne Berlin sowie beim Avant Art Festival auf, tourte durch über 21 Länder und war Signature Artist der Monheim Triennale 2024–25.

Over the past ten years he has released numerous solo releases on various cross-genre labels such as Orange Milk Records, Squama, and “Light Years” by Caterina Barbieri. Lukas Akintaya, auch bekannt als Adeolu, ist ein in Berlin lebender Schlagzeuger, Komponist und Musikproduzent, dessen Arbeit sich fließend über Disziplinen und Genres hinweg bewegt. Sein musikalisches Verständnis ist stark von der schwarzen Kunstform des Jazz sowie von ihrem weitreichenden kulturellen Erbe und gesellschaftlichen Einfluss geprägt. Akintayas Praxis begreift Jazz nicht als festen Stil, sondern als lebendige Methode. Geprägt durch sein Leben und Studium in Berlin, Bremen, Paris und New York City schöpft er aus einer Vielzahl musikalischer Szenen und Spieltraditionen und entwickelt Kollaborationen mit Künstler:innen aus unterschiedlichen musikalischen Hintergründen wie Hip-Hop, Clubmusik, „klassischer“, improvisierter und elektronischer Musik. Sein jüngstes Album The In Between (2025) ist eine langsam entfaltende, intime Meditation über die Vielschichtigkeit der Existenz. Getragen von einem zutiefst kollaborativen Geist verbindet das Album persönliche Poesie mit nichtlinearer Erzählweise und eröffnet einen Raum, der ebenso zuhört wie er spricht.

Lukas Akintaya, also known as Adeolu, is a Berlin-based drummer, composer, and music producer whose work moves fluidly across disciplines and genres. His musical conception is profoundly influenced by the Black art form of jazz, along with its wide ranging cultural heritage and societal impact. Akintaya’s practice reflects jazz not as a fixed style, but as a living methodology. Shaped by his life and studies in Berlin, Bremen, Paris and New York City, he draws from a wide range of musical scenes and playing traditions and forges collaborations with artists from various musical backgrounds like Hip Hop, club music, “classical”, improvised and electronic music. His most recent album „The In Between“ (2025), is a slow-burning and intimate meditation on the multifacetedness of existence. Driven by a deeply collaborative spirit, the album blends personal poetry with non-linear storytelling, opening a space that listens as much as it speaks.

Mariá Portugal ist als produktive und vielseitige Schlagzeugerin, Komponistin, Sängerin und Produzentin sowohl in der brasilianischen als auch in der europäischen Musikszene aktiv. Nach ihrem Abschluss in klassischer Komposition konzentrierte sie sich auf freie Improvisation und begann intensive Forschungen zu deren Schnittstellen mit Liedtraditionen. Diese Auseinandersetzung führte zu ihrem gefeierten Album EROSÃO (2021) sowie zur Gründung ihrer beiden aktuellen Ensembles: dem EROSÃO Septet und dem EROSÃO PERCUSSION TRIO. Sie ist außerdem Mitglied von Quartabê, Endless Breakfast, MONSTER und Fire! Orchestra und trat weltweit mit zahlreichen Künstler:innen auf – von Pop über freie Improvisation bis hin zur brasilianischen Popularmusik. Portugal war 2020 die 13. Improviser in Residence beim Moers Festival. Als Kuratorin war sie an Soundtrips-NRW in Duisburg beteiligt und leitet heute die Konzertreihe Toma Chocolate! in Berlin sowie ist Gastkuratorin des unlimited festival 2026 in Wels, Österreich. Außerdem komponiert sie Soundtracks für Tanz, Theater und Film.

Mariá Portugal has been active in both the Brazilian and European music scenes as a prolific and versatile drummer, composer, singer, and producer. After graduating in classical composition, she focused on free improvisation and began extensive research into its intersection with song traditions. This exploration led to her acclaimed album EROSÃO (2021) and the formation of her two current ensembles: the EROSÃO Septet and EROSÃO PERCUSSION TRIO. She is also member of Quartabê, Endless Breakfast, MONSTER and Fire! Orchestra, and has performed worldwide with a myriad of artists, spanning fields from pop to free improvisation and Brazilian popular music. Portugal was the 13th Improviser in Residence at Moers Festival (2020). As a curator, she participated in Soundtrips-NRW in Duisburg and now runs the concert series Toma Chocolate! in Berlin, besides being the guest curator for unlimited festival 2026 in Wels, Austria. She also composes soundtrack for dance, theater, and film.
