Die japanische Pianistin, Klang-Performerin und Komponistin Masako Ohta musiziert grenzenlos, interdisziplinär und international. Sie improvisiert, interpretiert und kommuniziert gerne an Tasteninstrumenten in vielen Kollaborationen. 2022 erschien das Album „Mmmmh“ zusammen mit dem Trompeter Matthias Lindermayr beim Label Squama. Das Album wurde für den Deutschen Jazzpreis 2023 nominiert. Das zweite Album des Duos „Nozomi“ (2025) wurde beim Preis der Deutschen Schallplatten Kritik ausgezeichnet. Ihre Klavier-Solo Alben „Poetry Album“ (2018), „My Japanese Heart“ (2020, nominiert beim Deutschen Schallplattenpreis 2020) und „My Music Garden“ (2025) erschienen beim Label Winter & Winter. Masako Ohta ist Preisträgerin zahlreicher Musik- und Kulturpreise wie des Musik-Förderpreises der Landeshauptstadt München 2018/2019. Ihr Klavierstudium absolvierte sie in Tokyo und Berlin, seit 1988 lebt sie in München.

The Japanese pianist, sound performer, and composer Masako Ohta makes music without boundaries, interdisciplinarily and internationally. She enjoys improvising, interpreting, and communicating on keyboard instruments in many collaborations. In 2022 the album “Mmmmh” was released together with trumpeter Matthias Lindermayr on the Squama label. The album was nominated for the German Jazz Prize 2023. The duo’s second album “Nozomi” (2025) received the German Record Critics’ Award. Her piano solo albums “Poetry Album” (2018), “My Japanese Heart” (2020, nominated for the German Record Critics’ Award 2020), and “My Music Garden” (2025) were released on the Winter & Winter label. Masako Ohta has received numerous music and cultural awards, including the Music Advancement Award of the City of Munich 2018/2019. She completed her piano studies in Tokyo and Berlin and has lived in Munich since 1988.

In nie erschöpfender, sprudelnder Energie gibt sich die Jazzpianistin und Komponistin Olga Reznichenko dem Ausloten der Extreme hin. Sowohl der Impuls, fast zerstörerisch auf ihr Instrument einzuspielen, als auch der Genuss schöner, friedlicher Klänge finden in ihrem intuitiven Spiel ganz natürlichen Raum. 2022 erscheint das Debütalbum ihres Trios auf dem renommierten Label Traumton. Das Album schafft es unter die zehn besten Jazzalben 2022, kuratiert von BR-Klassik, sowie unter die Top 8 Jazzalben 2022 des WDR. 2023 wird das Trio für den Deutschen Jazzpreis in der Kategorie „Band des Jahres“ nominiert. Im Juni 2023 erhält Reznichenko den Jutta-Hipp-Preis in der Kategorie „Improvisation“, und 2025 folgt die Nominierung für den Deutschen Jazzpreis in der Kategorie Piano/Tasteninstrumente“. Zu ihren aktuellen Projekten als Sidewoman zählen unter anderem Pauline Réage, Crutches, Beatdenker’s Polyplay und Jelena Kulićs Fundamental Interactions.

With inexhaustible, bubbling energy, jazz pianist and composer Olga Reznichenko devotes herself to exploring extremes. Both the impulse to attack her instrument almost destructively and the enjoyment of beautiful, peaceful sounds find a completely natural place in her intuitive playing. In 2022 the debut album of her trio was released on the renowned Traumton label. The album made it into the ten best jazz albums of 2022 curated by BR-Klassik as well as the top 8 jazz albums of 2022 by WDR. In 2023 the trio was nominated for the German Jazz Prize in the category “Band of the Year.” In June 2023 Reznichenko received the Jutta Hipp Prize in the category “Improvisation,” followed in 2025 by a nomination for the German Jazz Prize in the category “Piano/Keyboard Instruments.” Her current projects as a sidewoman include Pauline Réage, Crutches, Beatdenker’s Polyplay, and Jelena Kulić’s Fundamental Interactions.

Svetlana Marinchenko ist Pianistin und Komponistin, deren Musik aus der Verbindung unterschiedlichster musikalischer Strömungen entsteht und konsequent als experimenteller Prozess verstanden wird. Nach ihrem Studium am Jazzinstitut der Hochschule für Musik und Theater München erhielt sie internationale Auszeichnungen wie den ersten Preis der Steinway Competition (2016) und den Kurt Maas Award (2019) sowie eine Einladung zu den Berklee Studies. In 2021 wird sie Mitglied des Gutenberg Jazz Collective und arbeitete dort mit Musiker wie Lionel Loueke, Jeff Ballard, Larry Grenadier und Ben Wendel. Ihr aktuelles Album Vtorchermet steht für eine intensive Auseinandersetzung mit erweiterten Klangformen, Polyrhythmik, elektronischen und akustischen Texturen. Ihre Arbeit wurde von führenden Jazzmedien wahrgenommen (u. a. BR Klassik, Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Jazzthing, Jazzpodium). Heute lebt sie in Berlin und entwickelt ihre Kunst stetig weiter.

Svetlana Marinchenko is a pianist and composer whose music emerges from the combination of a wide variety of musical currents and is consistently understood as an experimental process. After studying at the Jazz Institute of the University of Music and Theatre Munich, she received international awards such as first prize at the Steinway Competition (2016) and the Kurt Maas Award (2019), as well as an invitation to the Berklee Studies. In 2021 she became a member of the Gutenberg Jazz Collective and worked there with musicians such as Lionel Loueke, Jeff Ballard, Larry Grenadier, and Ben Wendel. Her current album Vtorchermet represents an intensive exploration of extended sound forms, polyrhythm, and electronic and acoustic textures. Her work has been recognized by leading jazz media (including BR Klassik, Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Jazzthing, and Jazzpodium). Today she lives in Berlin and continues to develop her artistic practice.

Szabolcs Bognár, professionell bekannt als Àbáse, ist ein in Ungarn geborener und in Berlin lebender Musiker, Produzent, Komponist und DJ, dessen Arbeit Improvisation, afrodiasporische Einflüsse, ungarische Folklore, Hip-Hop und Clubmusik zu einem lebendigen globalen Sound verbindet. Er studierte Jazzklavier am Budapester Konservatorium und erweiterte sein künstlerisches Spektrum durch Residenzen in Paris, New York und Brasilien, bevor er sich 2018 in Berlin niederließ, wo er zu einer prägenden Figur der aufstrebenden neuen Musikszene der Stadt wurde. Zusammenarbeit steht im Zentrum von Bognárs Praxis und bringt Künstler:innen unterschiedlicher Hintergründe zusammen. Dies spiegelt sich nicht nur in seiner musikalischen Arbeit wider, sondern auch in kuratierten Veranstaltungen und seinem Label Oshu Records. Er veröffentlichte gefeierte Werke, darunter die Alben Laroyê und Awakening, und arbeitete mit Künstlern wie Wayne Snow, Moses Yoofee, Petter Eldh und Mitgliedern des Sun Ra Arkestra zusammen und erhielt Unterstützung von namhaften DJs und Kurator:innen weltweit.

Szabolcs Bognár, professionally known as Àbáse, is a Hungarian-born, Berlin-based musician, producer, composer and DJ whose work fuses improvisation, Afro-diasporic influences, Hungarian folk, hip-hop and club music into a vibrant global sound. He studied jazz piano at the Budapest Conservatory and expanded his craft through residencies in Paris, New York and Brazil before settling in Berlin in 2018, where he became an influential figure in the city’s emerging new music scene. Collaboration is central to Bognárs practice, bringing together artists from diverse backgrounds. This is reflected not just in his musical output but through curated events and his label Oshu Records. He has released acclaimed works including the albums Laroyê and Awakening and has collaborated with artists such as Wayne Snow, Moses Yoofee, Petter Eldh and members of the Sun Ra Arkestra, earning support from notable DJs and tastemakers across the globe.
